That’s it. The spreadsheet then acts as a go-between that is always a little late. Time passes between the sale and the stock correction, someone makes a mistake while retyping, and at night and at weekends nobody updates anything (because who would want to).

One-off items and last pieces take the hardest hit, because a single order takes the stock straight to zero. Anyone who has been through it knows the result: a cancelled order, explaining yourself to an annoyed buyer and a lower seller account rating thrown in.

What does WooCommerce Allegro integration cover?

The integration ties stock, listings and orders together so that the store is the single source of data for both channels. A well-planned WooCommerce to Allegro connection usually covers:

shared stock with items reserved when an order is placed,

creating listings from product records in the store,

mapping parameters and categories,

pulling orders into the WooCommerce panel,

matching delivery methods,

handling sales documents.

Technically there are two routes. The comparison is below.

How does shared stock for the store and Allegro work?

One stock count, two channels. Every order, whether from Allegro or from the store, reserves the item right away. Stock synchronization with Allegro runs in short, regular cycles instead of manual corrections, so the number of available items in the listing keeps up with what sells in the store.

But to be honest: when two buyers reach for the same last item, there is still a window of a few seconds in which both orders can go through. With ordinary stock that margin doesn’t matter. With unique items it does. So you need to decide whether to keep a buffer, meaning you don’t list the last item in both channels at the same time. In my opinion, with unique items that is pretty much the obvious choice.

Creating Allegro listings from the store: categories, parameters and prices

Allegro listings are built from product records in WooCommerce, so you fill in the description, photos and parameters in one place. Store categories are mapped to Allegro categories, and product attributes to the parameters required in listings. Data missing? The listing won’t go live. That is why complete parameters on the product page are a requirement, not a nice extra.

Prices are a different story. Allegro has pricing rules that change the listing price on their own within a range set by the seller, for example based on the lowest price of a given product on Allegro, checked every hour, as described in the Allegro guide to managing listings. And here is the catch. Before you start, you need to settle which system decides the price, because otherwise the store and the Allegro rules will keep overwriting each other.

How do orders from Allegro get into WooCommerce?

Orders from Allegro land in the WooCommerce panel and are handled the same way as those from the store. Allegro delivery methods are mapped to the methods configured in the store, so labels and shipment statuses match.

Every order carries information about who is responsible for fulfillment: the seller or the Allegro warehouse in the case of One Fulfillment listings, as explained in the Allegro order handling documentation. You don’t pack orders fulfilled by Allegro yourself. But they still have to reduce stock, and the right stock at that. You also need to watch out for items bought with a quantity discount across multiple listings, because their amounts have to reach the order correctly. Sales documents can be created automatically (connecting invoicing and ERP is a topic for a separate article).

Allegro through BaseLinker or through the API: which route to choose?

In short: BaseLinker for a standard process and several sales channels, a custom module on the Allegro API for unusual stock, pricing or order rules. The first route gives you a ready-made panel and a quick way to connect channels. But also dependence on an external service. That is how WooCommerce integration with BaseLinker works.

A custom module on the API has logic tailored to the store and works without a go-between. In return it needs ongoing technical care, because Allegro keeps developing its API. When should you switch? When workarounds, manual corrections and rules that the panel simply cannot reproduce start to appear. We go through this in the article on what to do when BaseLinker is no longer enough.

What to settle before starting the store’s integration with Allegro?

One question first: which system is the source of truth for stock, prices and product data? The rest of the decisions follow from that:

Tidy SKU and EAN codes, because they are what links products to listings.

The source of stock and prices: the store, Allegro or pricing rules.

A map of categories and parameters.

Matching delivery methods.

How one-off items are handled, including the buffer.

Who issues sales documents and where.

If you are only just putting your store on the WooCommerce platform in order, take these points into account from the start. Later it costs more. A well-prepared WooCommerce Allegro integration means one stock count instead of a spreadsheet and far fewer double sales.

Frequently asked questions

Does the integration completely rule out selling the same item in both channels?

Not completely.
